"Professional
Pet Care When You Can't Be There" |
What does a Pet Sitter do?
Caring pet owners know that most pets adjust better to their owner's absence and experience less anxiety
or stress when they can remain at home. Petcetera makes this possible by providing daily visits to your home. In addition to meals, playtime and cleaning up after your pets
(including litter boxes), we can administer medications, walk dogs, provide mid-day puppy visits and a flexible array of other pet care services. We can also provide "make your house look lived in" services: mail, newspaper, trash, lights and blinds. A professional pet sitter provides peace of mind to everyone.
Why should I hire a professional?
Professional pet sitters are just what the name suggests: Professional pet caregivers. While having family, friends or neighbors care for your pets may seem like a logical choice, we do this for a living. This means we have the experience required to properly care for your pets - including emergencies. We are insured and bonded - you can trust us to act responsibly when we enter your home and care for your pets. Since this is our job, you can count on us to be there.
How do I initiate services?
Simple: First, call or e-mail us and we will set up a time that is convenient for a free in-home consultation.
During the consultation we
will:
- Meet you and your pets
- Gather important information: Emergency contacts, pet and home
procedures, special requests and/or medical needs
- Review and sign some paperwork
- Obtain or arrange for a door key
What can I do to prepare for our consultation?
You can fill out forms ahead of time (we can mail them out or send them to you
via e-mail).
How will you ensure my key is kept safe?
Your key will be kept in a safe and secure lock-box. In addition, your personal information will not be with your key.
Rather, keys will be coded in a way that only we are aware of.
What can I do to help my pet sitter take the best care of my pets?
- Tell us about all health problems your pets may have - major or minor, past or present.
- Notify close neighbors and your vet that Petcetera will be caring for your pets while you are away.
- Make sure all food, toys, leashes & collars (that fit) are readily available.
If my pet becomes ill what are the emergency procedures?
We need to know your veterinarian's name and contact information, a phone number
where you can be contacted and the name and number of anyone else you trust to
make decisions on emergency care. Please consider how much money you
authorize to be spent. This information will be recorded on the pet sitter
contract you will sign.
Can I use a neighbor or friend in combination with the pet sitter while I am
gone?
We do not share responsibilities with anyone else but a Petcetera associate.
This is for your pet's and your home's safety. We are insured and bonded and
cannot be held responsible for other acts of someone else in your home in case
problems arise. Our insurance protects you should there be an incident that
involves your pet or property. Bonding insures against theft or other illicit
abuse of your property. If you plan to also have someone else in your home while
you are away, please discuss this with us upon our initial meet and greet at
your home.
